SEWN is the Self-Employed Women’s Network
We are a volunteer, non-profit, member driven association that connects women in business on the Sunshine Coast of BC. Simply put – SEWN provides a platform to help women share experiences, business ideas and expertise for their own benefit, and the benefit of others.
SEWN offers women the opportunity to build networks and provides a place for communication – both in person and online. We collaborate with and promote our members’ events and business offerings. We encourage our members to use the SEWN platform to organize their own events, to set up small local mastermind groups or circles, and to ask for, and offer, assistance.
Our socializer and networking events provide face to face connections and our website, FB page and newsletters can connect you virtually. Every member has an equal say and responsibility for the operation and success of the association. The association is led by a volunteer team of Directors who are elected yearly at the AGM in April.
Fall Business Fair – September 30
Our 2016 Business Fair was such a success that for 2017 we’ve moved to a bigger location—the Sechelt Band Hall. This event is FREE and open to EVERYONE. Join us Saturday, September 30 from noon to 4 pm for vendors, presentations, demonstrations, door prizes and MORE.
SEWN’s pilot project in Mentorship will match up 4 to 6 pairs of mentors and mentees and provide them with the tools to make that sharing effective and fruitful for both. The commitment is a minimum 4 hours per month. The objectives are to develop a member’s skills related to business, leadership, and building and managing relationships. Interested?
You don’t have to be self-employed to join.
We welcome everyone – if you’re thinking about starting a business; you currently operate your own business; you work in a small or large business; or you are a retired business woman. Everyone can learn from other’s experiences and can share their stories and expertise with other women.
